The Distance Education Programs within the Department of Agronomy is seeking qualified candidates for an Instructional Support Specialist I positions who will assist the Development Lab with daily operations.

The Instructional Support Specialist I will assist in developing graduate level instructional materials for Agronomy, Plant Breeding and Crop Adviser Institute (CAI) programs housed within the Distance Programs Development Lab. The position will be responsible for assisting in development of distance and continuing education courses. The incumbent will work closely with faculty and staff within the department to design online courses and/or course material. Additional responsibilities will include departmental instructional development projects, web-based and multimedia modules, and performing operational tasks.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and problem solving skills as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. The candidate will also have the ability to work as a part of a team, multitask, and pay close attention to detail. Proficiency in XHTML, CSS and JavaScript will be necessary in order to be successful in this position.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Information Technology, Journalism or closely related field and some related experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated working knowledge and experience within the area of graphic design; Flash development; Flash Actionscript 2 and/or 3; multiple platform versatility; and design for online media.

Experience that demonstrates knowledge of web site design software, e.g., Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Premiere, and/or Photoshop.

Experience with Microsoft Office software, e.g., Word and Excel.

Experience that demonstrates writing for newsletters and/or course modules (synthesis from multiple information sources).

Salary
Minimum $30,622; commensurate with qualifications

Special Conditions
All accrued vacation must be taken during the term of this appointment. Unused vacation will be forfeited upon resignation or termination from ISU.
