The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a candidate for Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Energy & Environment, S&T Directorate. The COO provides operational leadership and direction to support the ALD in achieving overall Directorate objectives. The focus of this position is on enabling and supporting the Directorate staff to ensure operations and programmatic performance, with particular focus on operational assurance functions. Develop and collaboratively implement high-value approaches for operational efficiency and assured excellence, with a focus on safe, complainant and cost effective operations.



BS degree in a technical or operations field plus 20 years relevant experience or Advanced Degree in a technical or operations field and 18 years relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in laboratory operations and assurance. Relevant experience in management and/operations of research or related facilities. Experience with DOE contractor assurance requirements, conduct of operations in a DOE environment, and national laboratory operations. Ability to participate and work effectively and professionally as a member of the EEST operations team.


Environmental, Safety & Health

Must be familiar with, and comply with all relevant health and safety requirements. Must be knowledgeable of emergency action policies and procedures, methods for reporting/resolving work practices or conditions to available cognizant professionals.
