This position is in the Office of Protective Services (Ops), Counterintelligence (CI) Division responsible for providing Agency-wide executive and functional leadership, policy formulation, oversight, guidance, coordination and advocacy for security, emergency management, and programmatic counterintelligence/counterterrorism operations, processes, functions, and activities. Serves as the CI Senior Cyber Analyst responsible for performing functions that detect, deter and neutralize cyber espionage attempts again NASA information and information systems.
Successful completion of a security investigation leading to a secret (or top secret) clearance will be required.
This position maybe filled at the GS-13 or GS-14 with potential to the GS-14 level.

Performs CI Cyber Analysis, Investigations, Liaison, and Coordination. Plans, directs, coordinates and establishes an effective liaison program with the US Intelligence Community and other stakeholders involved in National level cyber CI/security efforts. Conducts computer forensic analysis to support investigations and investigate cyber intrusions/attacks. Conducts intelligence analysis relative to the cyber fields of information processing, data communications, network intrusion, and indications and warning to computer networks. Conducts cyber analytical support for counterintelligence investigations, and operations.
Develops the Agency CI Cyber Security Awareness Program. Prepares analytic products to educate agency entities of a wide variety of cyber counterintelligence threats. Coordinates threat information with national level counterparts and NASA Intelligence Specialist; recommending alternative courses of action that will enable NASA to respond effectively to forecasted or unforeseen events.
Serves as the subject matter expert and technical authority of CI cyber threats, as well as, IT forensic analysis procedures, investigations and mitigating techniques. Plans, directs, coordinates, executes and evaluates NASA CI/CT policies, procedures, and strategies related to the management of an effective Agency-wide CI cyber program
Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
GS-13 Specialized experience is defined as analyzing and participating in tracking trends, resolving security issues and investigating threats and assisting on cyber investigations.
GS-14 Specialized experience is defined as providing policy formulation, coordinating emergency management and programmatic counterintelligence/counterterrorism operations, processes, functions, and activities. Conducting intelligence analysis relative to the cyber fields of information processing, data communications, network intrusion, and indications and warning to computer networks; and IT forensic analysis procedures, investigations, and mitigating techniques.
