The function of the Infection Control Professional is to develop, maintain, and evaluate a comprehensive infection control program designed to prevent and control infections. This program must meet all OSHA, county, state, and Joint Commission regulatory and compliance requirements. In addition to surveillance IC Professional must be able to coordinate collection of data for public reporting and hospital reporting and be skilled in management of data base for the IC program. Individual must be detail oriented, organized with ability to manage multiple projects and have excellent communication skills.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing with 3-5 years as a RN plus 3 months to 1 year in IC.
Must have State of Illinois RN license.
Must have successsfully completion of infection control practitioner course, membership in the local and national Association for Practitioners in Infection Control and APIC, CIC is preferred. Must be capable of becoming certified within 2 years of hire. Computer knowledge and Microsoft Office is a must.
