Simon Pearce, a leader in the manufacturing of hand blown glass and hand-made pottery has an immediate opening for a Part-time Payroll Coordinator to join the HR Team in Windsor, VT. The Payroll Coordinator will administer and perform all responsibilities to ensure timely and accurate bi-weekly payroll processing for 250+ employees using ADP payroll system in multi-company, multi-state environment. This position is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the integrity of written and electronic information retained and reported on all employees and will also provide administrative and tactical support for all Human Resources programs and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides outstanding customer service to managers and employees of Simon Pearce by answering questions, responding to requests and providing assistance in a positive, confidential and professional manner.
Uses ADP Workforce Now to produce accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies. Compiles, prepares and inputs data such as salary adjustments, incentives, special payments, deductions, allocations, hours worked, and other records. Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll. Prepares and distributes paychecks.
Ensures all employee and payroll records are completed, filed and reported appropriately. Collects and records new employee information, data concerning transfer of employees between departments, position changes and termination of employment. Keeps records of changes affecting wages such as hours worked, exemptions, insurance coverage, loan payments, leave pay and other paid benefits. Conducts research and resolves inaccuracies as needed.
Prepares reports using ADP Reporting, Excel and other tools for internal and external distribution.
Ensures maintenance and upgrades are performed appropriately within the ADP System.
Assists with compensation and benefits administration. Helps to prepare and distribute notices and information. Receives enrollment and change documentation, performance evaluations, ensures completion/accuracy and processes appropriately. Collects, tracks and reconciles payments to and from employees. Reconciles records, notices and requests for information from service providers and government agencies.
Assists with training and education efforts by preparing materials and information packets, scheduling training sessions, tracking attendance and ensuring documentation is complete and filed appropriately.
Assists with the administration and maintenance of the HR intranet site.
Assists with other HR programs and services as needed: ie: preparing and distributing various documentation and correspondence including letters, notices, manuals, organization charts, employee directories, etc.
Assists HR team with various administrative tasks, projects, research and other requests, as needed.
Associate's degree (AA) from two-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now system and ADP Time and Attendance is preferred.
High degree of confidentiality, as there is access to compensation, job performance, medical, and personal information.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong command of grammar, punctuation and spelling, plus tact and diplomacy.
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
