Athens Technical College in Athens, GA seeks a full-time Clinical Instructor for the Veterinary Technology Program. The selected candidate will be responsible for scheduling and supervising veterinary technology students during clinical training experiences in university, private and corporate settings. In addition, the candidate will teach both didactic and laboratory sections of courses in veterinary technology including (but not limited to): Pathology and Diseases, Laboratory and Exotic Animal Medicine, Anesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Clinical and Surgical Nursing, Emergency and Critical Care, and Practice Management. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills including the demonstrated ability to work with veterinary industry professionals of varying levels of education and experience. Candidates must be physically able to supervise students in a variety of clinical settings as well as handle the equipment, supplies and animals used in the program. The successful applicant will be expected to implement and improve course and program materials that support stated student learning outcomes and comply with regulations imposed by accrediting agencies as well as state- and institution-based educational policies, standards and goals.

The minimum of a doctoral degree in Veterinary Medicine from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine is required. Applicants must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a veterinarian with the State of Georgia and have at least three years' experience in private clinical practice. Clinical expertise with both small and large animals is required; experience with laboratory and exotic animals and emergency/critical care procedures is preferred. Evidence of teaching experience and excellence is required; preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience at the college or university level and those with the demonstrated ability to implement online technologies for educational purposes.
