JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Head Cook, the employee will be responsible for preparing food as instructed, stocking and cleaning dining room and spark room and assisting staff as needed in the kitchen area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

State of Alaska Food Safety Card ( http://dec.state.ak.us/eh/fss/ )

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent

Training and application in prevention of food borne illness, HACCP, sanitation and personal hygiene

Previous experience in camps and/or related area experiences

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Clean and sanitize dining room and stock as needed

Sweep and mop dining room

Continually stock paper products and condiments

Stock silverware, plates and bowls as necessary

Willingness to perform others duties as required

Willingness to work at various locations as required

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The employee will be required to live and work in a remote and confined workspace for extended periods of time and e xposure to work assignments consisting of twelve-hour days and able to work day or night shifts as required. T he majority of the work is performed in a remote setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee’s work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. There is a lack of immediate access to critical medical services as well as urban community services.
