Clinic Director - Outpatient Clinic

Family and Community Solutions in partnership with the Italian Home for Children is seeking an independently licensed, experienced clinician and energetic leader for the full-time position of Clinic Director of our Outpatient Mental Health program.

Summary of Position: The Clinic Director is responsible for oversight and management of outpatient clinical and psychiatric services provided to children, families and adults in all locations, including the Brighton Clinic, Dorchester Clinic and all school partner sites.

Essential Functions:
Directly responsible for the supervision and management of all outpatient clinical and psychiatric services.

Responsible for screening, interviewing, hiring, training, disciplining, supervising and evaluating staff.

Supervises the Intake Coordinator, 3 Clinical Supervisors and assigned clinicians on a weekly basis.

Oversees: intake function; front office function through supervision of Operations Manager; and psychiatric services through oversight of Medical Director and prescribers.

Provides crisis support and consultation to staff, on adult and child cases, during business hours.

Provides back up support to staff who are part of the on-call rotation for client crises during non-business hours.

Provides leadership and training to staff in meeting productivity targets.

Runs weekly clinical team meetings as well as treatment team and other meetings as needed.

Creates an atmosphere conducive to full client participation and client driven, solution focused treatment.

Facilitates effective communication and cooperation between outpatient staff and all other departments.

With the CEO/COO: ensures that the outpatient program meets budget projections, specifically related to staff productivity; represents the program at external clinical meetings as needed; serves as the agency liaison to DMH and DPH; and manages risk through clinical supervision, utilization review, quality assurance, on-call and other efforts. Calls and chairs risk management meetings as needed. Assists staff with filing reports of abuse and neglect whenever required.

Provides leadership in the timely completion and quality of all record keeping related to clinical services.

Conducts Quality Assurance and Utilization Review for the outpatient program.

Maintains familiarity with mental health laws and regulations.

Accepts additional responsibilities as assigned by the CEO and/or COO.

Knowledge/skills/abilities:
Education/Experience

Masters or doctoral degree in social work or related human service field.

Independent clinical license (LICSW, LMHC or Psychology).

Demonstrated proficiency in family, individual and group therapy.

Minimum 5 years post-Masters/Doctoral experience providing clinical services; at least 2 of which were in a supervisory/administrative capacity.

Mental Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential in conjunction with strong organizational and motivational abilities.

Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively during crisis situations occurring with adult and child cases.

Strong team building, teaching and leadership skills.

Ability to lead and manage well in a position requiring significant multi-tasking and management of client risk.

Physical Abilities

Visual and hearing acuity to perform job related functions.

HIring Range: $60,000 - $70,000
