This is a key role that can substantially contribute to the success of our product by streamlining the path from development to production, ensuring a responsive and reliable service and using operational data to drive improvement. Develop and improve reliable, performant, scalable and seamless production system
Employ version control and automation to maximize reliability and efficiency
You will be responsible for:
A continuous integration and testing system that ensures that quality code can move quickly and safely from development to test to staging
A continuous deployment system that ensures seamless, non-disruptive updates
An automated system provisioning and configuration system that ensures quick, reliable component additions and updates
A monitoring system that quickly identifies application problems and root causes

Demonstrated passion for automating and operating substantial production systems
Methodical and detail oriented and obsessed with continual learning and improvement
Strong desire to work with a close knit development team
Strong software development skills and discipline.
Proficiency in at least one of python, ruby, java or scala
Proficiency with a SQL in general and operating MySQL in particular
Very comfortable using and enhancing a configuration system build on puppet or chef
Very comfortable with the standard tools of the trade including nagios, cacti,, nginx, puppet, chef, ubuntu, bash, JVM, MySQL redis, lucene, hadoop, storm, etc
Also up to date and on the lookout for useful techniques, tools, services to improve your practice
BS in computer science or equivalent experience
