Duties and Tasks: • Work closely with engineering, program management, and marketing to identify, pursue and capture high priority Air Force ILS program to support company strategic goals; participates in development of program strategies and teaming strategies. • Serve as the company’s Air Force aircraft logistics subject matter expert; responsible for leading over-arching logistic support design; assist engineering in translating customer requirements into detailed system specifications. • Ensure design interface between ILS and engineering occurs at the beginning and throughout a program lifecycle so that supportability is designed into the program • Functions as the logistics focal point for engineering, production, installation and test • Ensure fielded systems are fully supported to meet support contract requirements • As project leader, leads large, strategic ILS project by applying technical and non-technical expertise in support of ILS goals • As an ILS functional team leader, coordinates team member assignments for large and multifunctional teams and builds and maintains the team's functional capabilities • Responsible for the completion of large, strategic ILS program within budgetary and scheduling guidelines • Ensure design interface between ILS and engineering occurs at the beginning and throughout the program lifecycle so that supportability is designed into a program/product • Ensure fielded systems are fully supported to meet support contract requirements • Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of large, strategic projects • Develops executable project plans on proposals: participates in discussions with business development personnel in support of new business opportunity identification • Actively uncovers technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in risk mitigation plans Knowledge Skills and Abilities: LOGISTICS • Logistics experience in the United States Air Force required including aircraft and equipment maintenance policies and procedures, safety standards and regulations, and automated IT maintenance systems. • Experience with aircraft operations and maintenance highly desired • Knowledge of Air Force training aircraft operations and maintenance (O&M) required • Knowledge of Logistics Elements including: Maintenance Planning, Manpower and Personnel, Training and Support, Technical Data, Support Equipment, Computer Resources PLANNING & SCHEDULING • Knowledge of program schedules, risk areas, work estimating, allocation, scheduling and progress measurement • Ability to recognize overall strategic and tactical objectives and set interim and overarching goals to achieve them • Ability to organize functional organizations within programs to provide structured hierarchical reporting of program data and metrics
Education and Experience
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering or Management or the equivalent experience is required.
Master†s degree in Logistics Management, Management or Engineering preferred.
In addition, a minimum of 10 years ILS, acquisition logistics and management experience is required.
Military experience preferred.
International Society of Logistics (SOLE) certification preferred.
Must be able to travel 20% of the time
