As the Chief Information Officer for Corporate Human Resources, this vice president is accountable for establishing strategic technical direction and developing the business systems plan to the functional leader's goals and objectives for domestic and international. With the outsourcing of technology to multiple vendors, it is the responsibility of this associate to ensure the appropriate IT governance team is in place to monitor and continually evaluate the controls and quality of the IT service providers. The CIO will also approve the selection and implementation of new vendors to ensure that Prudential technical standards are met and fit into the strategic direction of the HR system architecture while meeting the business objectives. Other areas of responsibility include representing Corporate HR with internal and external IT executives and partners, managing the Prudential HR infrastructure and licenses, overseeing the application business continuity program and overseeing staff that are engaged in managing large initiatives regarding the core applications across Corporate Human Resources.
Partner with Corporate HR Leaders in the creation, maintenance and periodic update of an IT Strategy (Application, Information and Infrastructure) that enables delivery of the organization goals and provides a context for evaluation and selection of potential technology solutions.
Continually enhances and shares knowledge of the technology industry and the possibilities that new technological developments bring to Corporate Human Resources.

Establish and manage a team that provides IT support to Corporate HR and CR. Examples of team responsibilities:
Oversee the management of IT initiatives and provide integration support and direction to Corporate HR when implementing new technology solutions (to ensure fit with existing and future architecture) and it is in compliance with Prudential technology standards and policies.
Oversee staff management of IT vendor due diligence and governance monitoring and activities supporting the Corporate HR practices.
Oversee staff that manages IT network, server and desktop licenses and software upgrades across all of Corporate HR and IT vendors.
Oversee staff that manages overall application business continuity, information security and privacy programs for Corporate HR and all vendor relationships.
Partner with the HR Risk, to align technology and security programs.
Provide management updates to the Prudential CIO on Corporate Human Resources technology strategy and initiatives.
Participate in the recommendation and establishment of vendor contract terms and agreements regarding IT services.
Resolve escalated issues with Corporate HR and with our internal and external business partners and vendors.
Approve technology procurement orders for business.
Participate in architectural reviews and provide sign off as appropriate.
Provide IT consulting services and serve as Technical Subject Matter Expert (SMEs) on general Information Technology.
Proven leader and ability to engage and motivate staff.
15 or more years of experience/knowledge on central and distributed computer platforms.
Experience in managing outsourced / vendor dependent solutions
Experience with/exposure to social media is highly desired
Proven program and change management experience including the ability to work across organizations to integrate and deliver work.
Application development project management experience.
Relationship management/consulting experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Knowledge of Prudential IT and Information Security standards and processes.
Technical proficiency/experience with variety of technical platforms from web, mainframe, Distributed (i.e. Sequel Server), and workflow, telecom and IT infrastructure such as servers, LANS, WANS, Routers, Web 2.0, etc.
Up to 25% of time may require travel to locations outside of New Jersey
Working knowledge PeopleSoft and reporting tools such as Business Objects or Cognos helpful.
