Position Summary:
Performs highly skilled, independent and technical work, including preservation treatments, for one or more of the Center for Southwest Research's archival or special collections: pictorial/photographic, architectural, manuscripts and books. Preparation and installation of exhibition materials; cataloging archival materials according to national standards, and entering same on electronic databases. Is in charge of opening and closing when a staff member is unavailable. Duties frequently require independent judgment. Supervises student employees at a lower classification. Will work with staff on ensuring adequate security measures are in place for collections.

Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Must have bachelor's degree. Knowledge of southwestern and/or Latin American history and/or architecture/architectural history and/or photography/photographic history. Knowledgeable in the library of congress call number order. Knowledge of library special collections. Good communications and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to deal tactfully with the public. Preservation skills.
