The primary focus of this position is to serve as a resource and partner on all aspects of human resources for employees and management in our North Dakota market and serve as a representative of Coborn’s, Inc. corporate. Specific duties for this position include talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, safety and other various tasks as required. Supervision ranges from general to minimal. Provides consultation and direction to management and staff regarding employee relations activities, productivity, conflict resolution procedures, corrective and disciplinary actions, terminations, leaves of absence, safety and workers compensation activities, and other employee matters affecting employee relations. Advises management regarding personnel practices, policies and procedures and employment laws. Has a good working knowledge of all employment laws, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action, Americans with Disabilities Act, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, Harassment, etc. Conducts investigations into concerns/complaints brought forward by employees. Assembles and reviews records, reports and documentation of disciplinary, performance actions, and safety concerns. Facilitate training programs, presentations, and documented procedures to increase the knowledge, skills and abilities of all employees and leadership in compliance with company, state, or federal laws. Interprets policies and recommends procedures for implementing policies to ensure compliance. Establishes and maintains relationships with managers to stay abreast of current and future employee relations issues to help prevent potential employee relation problems. Partner with corporate HR team on various project teams to drive achievement of Best Place to Work. (i.e. United Way, Wellness, New Store Openings).

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred. 3-5 years Human Resource Generalist experience preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment. Ability to speak effectively in front of large audiences. Basic accounting skills. Understand decimal numerical sequencing. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Demonstrate good judgment and decision making skills. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook and experience with HRIS systems.PHR preferred.
