This position is located at Finegayan, Guam.
This position is a full-time temporary position not to exceed 30 Sep 2013. Temporary appointments may be extended at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive and emergent corrective maintenance on antennas, supporting structures, and associated transmission line systems.
- Perform periodic inspections and repairs or replaces faulty antenna and supporting structural hardware.
- Maintain dehydrates and/or pressurized air systems for air dielectric transmission line systems.
- Troubleshoot antenna systems and transmission lines to locate and correct problems utilizing a variety of electronic test equipment.
- Perform cable splicing on various types of coaxial cables, splices hemp and wire rope cables.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of an Antenna Mechanic without more than normal supervision such as: laying or strining transmissions lines of coaxial cable or open wire.

This is a Key/Emergency-Essential position. In the event of a crisis situation of war, the selectee must continue to perform assigned duties to support mission requirements until relieved by proper authority.
Occasionally handles weight in excess of 100 lbs, and continually reaches, bends, stoops, pushes, and pulls while performing assigned duties. Majority of work is outdoors in good and inclement weather. Subject to RF exposure, burns, and electrical shock when working aloft on towers or with material capable of conducting eletricity. Exposed to injury from swinging or dropped loads, breaking slings, and falling objects. Exposed to cuts, bruises, and brokenbones from falls while climbing and working from tower, platforms, and other structures. Exposed to hazards associated with welking, painting, and the use of mild corrosives when reconditioning or repairing antennas.
