This position is responsible for administrating WebSphere Message Broker (v7), WebSphere MQ (v7), MFT, MIM in Linux/Windows environment. Responsibilities include the installation, configuration, periodic monitoring, performance tuning, diagnosing, troubleshooting and support of these servers.
Install and configure WMQ / WMB / WBI Adapters on Windows 2003/2008, HP-UX, and SuSe Linux (SLSE) Platforms.
Setup and administer the QueueManager, Queues, Channels, and Process Definitions in different environments.
Work with the support team for setting up WMQ / WMB in High Availability clustered environments.
Setup configuration in MQFTE or MIM to create filer transfer interfaces.
Promote enterprise integration components from one environment to another.
Apply fixpacs or upgrade WMQ / WMB to new versions.
Work with application team for setting up connectivity.
Handle production support tickets and resolve them in timely manner.
Work on 24x7 production calls.
BS/BA in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related
7+ years of IT experience
5+ years experience in Enterprise Integration and messaging
4+ years experience as a WMQ and WMB Administrator – senior level proficiency
At least 2 years experience with Tivoli (ITCAM) for monitoring the environment and also to create Dash boards and Alerts
At least 1 to 2 years of experience in IBM WBI Adapters including JDBC Adapter, E-mail Adapter, PeopleSoft Adapter, SAP Adapter
Excellent skills in MQ v6.0/7.0 Publish/Subscribe Design and Administration
Excellent trouble shooting skills in various areas (start to finish)
Proven ability to use programming and scripting languages including but not limited to Shell scripting, C, C++ and Java
Results oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action
Comfortable with ambiguity as needs change on a regular basis with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency
Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to interact with senior management, technical subject matter experts, and business customers are essential in this role
Ability to work on multiple, simultaneous high priority issues and projects
Working knowledge of Websphere on Linux (SuSE/Redhat) and Windows
Knowledge of Enterprise systems like SAP, PeopleSoft and Mfg/Pro
IBM Certification in WMQ and/or WMB
