Skills Required:

You will prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for entry-level positions in information technology and to give them opportunities for career advancement. You will instruct courses in Systems Hardware and Software, Network Operating Systems and Systems Security.

The selected individual will be expected to teach a few of the following courses Computer Systems I and II, Computer Networks I, II and III, Operating Systems Concepts, Unix Operating System and Introduction to Data Communications. Instructor will provide students with a complete syllabus containing course objectives on the first day of class. This individual will also have to provide instructions to our computer technology students and prepare them for A+, Network+ and Security+ Certification testing.

The ideal candidate will have a MS Degree in Computer Information Systems and be certified in two or more of the following: A+, Network+, Linux+, MCP, MCSE, CNE, and / or CCNA Certified and have 3-4 years experience in Systems Hardware and Software, Network Operating Systems and Systems Security.

We prefer that the selected individual has demonstrated the ability to effectively communicate with and teach students at the different level of experience. As well faculty must provide guidance to students in solving technical issues in the courses they teach while demonstrating vision and leadership for developing students’ ability for real world jobs.

Responsibilities:
  • Present enthusiastic, well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus.
  • Continually promote the development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, computation, problem solving and decision-making.
  • Instructor will teach approved curricula to diploma and associate degree students and develops daily lesson plans and laboratories to include instructional aides. Satisfaction of student is ensure through the classroom or laboratory setting according to the program objectives.
  • Maintains expertise in subject area and recommends improvements in curriculum design.
  • Generate in the classroom a comfortable and helpful setting.
  • Evaluate students' progress often and share those evaluations with them promptly.
  • Be available to students with concerns.
  • Play an intricate role in student retention efforts.
  • Take attendance regularly and submit absences promptly.
  • Prepare midterm and final grades on time.
  • Attend scheduled faculty meetings, department meetings, and faculty/staff retreats.
  • Acquire feedback to determine whether students understand each segment of the course.
  • Motivates students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
  • Completes professional development and in-service activities in accordance with college standards.
Requirements:

  • Strong presentation, written and organization skills, excellent persuasive communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills required.
  • Ability to utilize different methods and mediums in delivering course material.
  • Experience in organizing and writing reports and presentations of a technical nature.
  • Proven educational or administrative experience in critical thinking, problem solving and judgment skills.
  • Able to obtain and maintain licenses if applicable as required by state or accrediting commissions.
