As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including the Quality Assurance Inspector II position at our facility in Foley, AL.

PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE:

Inspects incoming parts/material; verify that certification is correct; checks parts for processing; check special orders; in charge of micrometers; gauge controls, calipers, indicators, etc. Provides experience and knowledge for the inspection team.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levels
  • Conducts visual inspections for obvious defects
  • Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS-9100 and B/E Quality standards
  • Expert in Aerospace Customer Quality Requirements or a minimum of 4 years of inspection experience.
  • Obtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative Stamps as required to meet business demand.
  • Aid in the disposition and control of non-conforming product
  • Participates in the development of inspection plans
  • Review and approval of First Articles from suppliers
  • Perform First Articles for submission to customers
  • Assist in internal, customer, and third party audits
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity
  • 12. Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

    BASIC ESSENTIAL CRITERIA/QUALIFICATION:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in QA inspection methods and procedures
  • High school education or GED equivalent.
  • Fluent in English (i.e. reading, writing, and verbal communication).
  • Strong analytical, organizational and troubleshooting skills.
  • Required to pass documented color and near vision exam.
  • Knowledge of AS-9100 requirements
  • In-depth experience in the usage of calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator
  • Proficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel)


  • ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

    Associate degree

    Understanding of Six Sigma / team concepts preferred

    ISO knowledge and understanding preferred

    Experience in the usage of Vision Inspection System
