Cargill Corn Milling North America is a manufacturer of value-added corn and sugar based products serving the Food, Feed and Fermentation segments. From facilities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas, we provide a wide variety of products and services including high fructose corn syrup, corn syrups, dextrose syrups and sucrose that are used in an array of beverage, brewing, confectionery, food and pharmaceutical applications. We also produce a variety of innovative, dry corn ingredients that are used in cereals, snacks, breads, tortillas and animal feed applications. In addition, we produce fuel-grade ethanol and are a leading supplier of corn oil, acidulants, corn gluten meal and corn gluten feed products.

Position Overview

The AEI Engineer will be a champion for the maintenance and reliability efforts around the AMS / Delta V systems. This position will have an integral role in development of the capabilities of the AMS /Delta V systems for early detection and elimination of controls system failures. The AEI Engineer is responsible for the implementation and management of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) around the AMS Delta V system. This position will be focused on automation and instrument development and reliability improvements along with other components of the proactive maintenance model that may be assigned as demanded by the needs of the facility.

Principal Accountabilities

45%

Troubleshooting automation solutions used for controlling plant process.

Will involve configuration of control, electrical and instrumentation systems.

Will participate in an on-call rotation for after hours support.

25%

Implementation of projects in a way consistent with Cargill project procedures, best practices and standards

20%

Work with fix/support team to identify areas in need of improvement and reliability. Provide and participate in training for completed projects.

10%

Training and development courses by HR, vendors and outside consultants

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Associates degree in a technical discipline plus 3 yrs AEI experience OR 5 years AEI experience

Understanding of continuous and batch process control strategies.

Will be required to obtain a working understanding of the corn milling process.

Ability to configure and program a variety of control systems including DCS, PLC and HMI systems.

Knowledge of IEC 61131 and other proprietary programming languages.

Ability to update and troubleshoot a range of electrical or instrumentation systems

Ability to read and update electrical schematics is a requirement.

Design and implementation knowledge of plant digital bus technologies a requirement.

Good communications and organizational skills required.

Must work equally as well in a team environment and alone. A self-starter.

Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning and scheduling desired.

Preferred

Three years or more experience in production, reliability, or project management

Automation, Electrical, and / or Instrumentation experience Emerson AMS & DeltaV programs /AB

Certified Maintenance Reliability Profession (CMRP) certification

Knowledge of predictive technologies (MCE, vibration, infrared, ultrasound, machinery lubrication)

Experience with corn milling equipment and processes

Plus 2 years AEI experience (for a total of 7 yrs of AEI experience if no type of degree)

Desired: CAP Certification through ISA
