Responsible to the Manager of Student Life for the operations of the Student Life front desk, including establishing procedures for sales and services; training and scheduling student workers; and assuring high quality service for all visitors. Responsible for the supervision and maintenance of the Student Life Lounge. Responsible for Student Life advertising and posting services, as well as scheduling distribution of printed materials and vendors on campus. Supports the functions of the Office of Student Life.
DUTIES OF POSITION:

*1. Coordinate the general dissemination of information from the Office of Student Life. Coordinate the organization of information received from other departments in the College and the local community for easy retrieval when needed by Student Life staff. Collect information for and maintain the Student Life staff calendar.
*2. Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, project management, development and evaluation of the front desk student workers. Assist students, staff and community members with their questions and concerns, both in person and over the telephone.
*3. Schedule appointments and take messages for Student Life staff members.
*4. Responsible for maintaining vendor program, including qualifying new vendors, providing vendor contact and addressing vendor problems and issues.
*5. Provide information and referrals to other college services and individuals.
*6. Establish procedures for front desk services and functions.
*7. Responsible for the development and maintenance of filing systems for the department both hard files and computer files, backing-up and archiving. Oversee front desk sales operations including ordering ticket inventory and preparing deposits.
*8. Enforce proper behavior and decorum in the Student Life Lounge spaces.
*9. Responsible for coordinating the distribution of printed materials, including processing requests, scheduling tables and assuring compliance with DPM policies.
*10. Responsible for scheduling and creating flyers and advertising for the office.
11. Serve on the Commencement Committee and assist with planning of the annual event.
12. Support student clubs and organizations through the front desk operation.
13. Responsible for creating and uploading slides for the campus plasma screens.
14. Represent departments on College committees and teams as assigned.
15. Other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree, office careers coursework and training in customer service.
Two (2) years' office experience involving skilled typing, computer/word processing skills and HTML. Demonstrated competence in office management and positive interpersonal skills. Proficient in written and spoken English.
Three (3) years' office experience in a college or university including advanced skilled typing, advanced computer skills-word processing and spreadsheets, supervision skills.
EQUIPMENT AND/OR MACHINES USED:
General office equipment, personal computer, credit card machine, multi-line telephone and copy machine.
General office environment, busy with heavy walk-in and telephone contact which involves extensive multi-tasking. Must be flexible and willing to adjust to last minute requests. Needs to have good listening skills. Mobility to bend and stoop. Additional and flexible hours may be required as necessary.
