Description The Systems Administrator Lead will be responsible for documentation, deployment and troubleshooting of the complete IT Unix environment including, but not limited to: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SuSE Linux Enterprise Server, AIX, Solaris, backup solutions (ideally Netbackup), VMWare, Apache, MySQL, Veritas and OCFS2 Clustering, Automated Server Build tools (AutoYaST, Kickstart), Scripting (Perl, Python, Bash), HP Server support, Bladelogic. The goal of this position is to deliver high quality solutions as part of a global projects team, working to agreed standards and delivering on time, in supporting data centers in US, UK, and Asia Pacific. Systems Administrator Lead works under general direction. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may supervise the activities of lower level personnel Responsibilities: · Perform hardware assembly, installation, configuration and network connection, and test of platform, operating system software and program products at vendor-supported levels. Hardware includes physical, blade, and virtual environments. · Identifies, develops and implements new and expanded support services or, performance/tuning recommendations and changes in the workload mix, to meet user business requirements and ensure availability of resources. · Works with users to understand their priorities and application requirements. Negotiates and documents action plans and schedules for systems implementation. · Reviews, maintains and tests upgrades to the configuration management vendor software. Performs software builds and promotion through the software development life cycle. · Performs repairs to computer hardware, software, and firmware, or makes changes to systems management software, to improve performance and eliminate problems. · Implements changes to the production environment as specified by user and/or management. Defines and adjusts downtime change management process. · Advises and mentors other internal staff and support teams. · There will be occasions when the candidate will be required to work unsocial hours. The candidate will also be part of an out of hours on-call rotation.

Qualifications Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) related field or equivalent work experience · 7-10 years of experience working in a systems administrator function Knowledge/Skills: · Knowledge of ITIL processes and experience with ticket tracking software, specifically CA USD · Excellent skills with Linux operating systems (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux) · Excellent troubleshooting skills · Experience supporting remote locations is critical · Excellent English verbal and written communication skills · Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations · Excellent organizational and project management skills · Excellent customer service skills · Advanced leadership skills
