Medcor is looking to hire RNs to cover the Medcor clinics at Yellowstone National Park for the 2014 season.

This description applies to a seasonal Registered Nurse position in one of the three medical clinics in Yellowstone National Park. The clinics are located at Old Faithful, Lake Village and Mammoth Hot Springs. Lake and Old Faithful, our seasonal facilities, open in a staggered fashion through May and are in operation until the end of September each year. There is an opportunity to work into mid-October at the Old Faithful Clinic. The Mammoth Hot Springs clinic is a primary care facility staffed year-round by a physician and, during the summer season, by a mid-level provider on weekends. The Old Faithful and Lake Village facilities provide urgent and emergency care as well as some primary care for local residents and employees. A wide age range of patients with diverse injuries and illnesses are seen. Limited point-of-service lab and x-ray are available at all three facilities. The National Park Service provides EMS services; medical control comes through Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. A Medcor physician team consisting of the Mammoth Clinic physician, Yellowstone National Park Medical Director and Medcor’s Corporate Medical Director, provides mid-level provider oversight.

The RN will be an employee of Medcor, Inc. Under Medcor, Inc., the clinician will assist in providing all aspects of clinical services to Yellowstone National Park. This includes participation in the billing process as delineated by Medcor, Inc. Financial remuneration, administrative and operational services are provided by Medcor, Inc. The employee policies of Medcor, Inc. apply to the RN and full compliance is expected.

This position supports the values and expectations of Medcor. The RN is expected to provide services in an honest and ethical manner; demonstrate good clinical and personal judgment; deliver excellent clinical care in accordance with current standards including consistently good clinical outcomes and compliance with certification and/or licensure requirements; treat patients with dignity and decency; demonstrate good clinical management with effective co-worker communication, conflict resolution, and compliance with applicable regulations.

The Medcor RN maintains good interpersonal relations with patient/employees, the client/employer, referral physicians and Medcor staff; communicates openly and honestly with patients, patient/employees, employers, referral physicians, the Operations Director, Medcor corporate staff; acts in a consistently fair manner; builds trust with patients and co-workers.

Teamwork and flexibility are essential qualities of the Medcor staff, including participation in appropriate meetings and affairs, pitching in when help is needed, and providing assistance with difficult schedules, etc.

Medcor, Inc. staff is expected to assist with all tasks necessary to maintain good clinical operations, clean clinic surroundings and a customer friendly approach in all situations. The Registered Nurse ensures that the quality of patient care meets legal and professional standards and also acts as a role model to other members of the health care team.
