Sr. Blast Algorithm Engineer needed to be a Subject Matter Expert for a Successful Software Company with an Important Mission. Senior Blast Algorithm Modeler needed for a Permanent Full-Time position with a leading software/services company in the Triangle Area of NC. This role is responsible for: Developing and integrating fast-running physics based algorithms to predict post-detonation environments. Developing and integrating models to predict equipment and structural response to extreme environments including structure collapse and crater formation. Developing and integrating structural response and engineering mechanics models for predicting blast effects to structures and components. Developing and integrating 3D target interrogation routines and methods for 3D modelling of infrastructure and equipment. Technical contributions include concept development, systems engineering, and/or architecture design. Managing project budgets, tasks and schedules. The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for developing and integrating technologies that include:
(1) fast-running engineering algorithms to predict post-detonation blast and fragment environments;
(2) predicting equipment and structural response to extreme environments including building collapse and crater formation;
(3) 3D target interrogation routines and methods for 3D modelling of buildings, infrastructure, and equipment;
(4) structural response and engineering mechanics models for predicting blast effects to structures and components.
At least some experience or exposure to developing physics based models in MATLAB software, or in a programming language is required. A willingness to learn software development as modelling tool is required.
