Description

Silicon photonics is a research effort at Intel to revolutionize computing platforms by creating optical communication devices using traditional silicon manufacturing techniques. Bringing optical technology into the computing industry will transform the way computers work and the value that they provide to people.

As a wafer level test technician in this group, you will be part of the Silicon Photonics Operations team overseeing all operational aspects of wafer level testing. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing lab tools and optical equipment: New equipment purchases, tool calibration scheduling, tracking stations usage and maintenance and coordinating rental equipment
  • Being the primary contact person for external support such as field engineers, technicians, Safety officers, IT
  • Setting and maintaining the lab as a great and safe place to work, adhering to Intel Standards and Code of Conduct
  • Training other lab technicians on tools and managing lab access
  • Solving operational problems as they occur in the lab diligently with minimal interruption to work flow
  • Coordinating external supplier equipment demos and customer visits

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous job and/or research experience.

Minimum qualifications

  • Must have an Associates or Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on a test floor running high-volume test equipment; at the AS/AAS level, a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience running optical tests using equipment such as DCA, BERT Scope, OSA, optical power meter and/or fiber optics on optical devices; at the AS/AAS level, a minimum of 5 years of experience
Preferred qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the above skill sets
  • 5+ years of experience in a production facility
  • 2+ years of experience working as a lab technician in an optics lab
