CAMPUS SPECIFIC DUTIES
The Director oversees daily marketing operations, including client services, project management, vendor relationships, and budget, with a broad level of responsibility and authority, and wide latitude for independent judgment and initiative. S/he oversees the creative development of all marketing collateral, print and digital, with primary responsibility for ensuring all aspects of the college's marketing communications portfolio are of the highest quality and consistent with its integrated marketing strategy. The Director works closely with the Associate Directors of marketing communications, print, and digital to ensure all projects are delivered on deadline, within budget, and consistent with the college's marketing strategy, and that all print and digital collateral is appropriately integrated.
The Director will:
Provide strong leadership to marketing staff. Set priorities and deadlines. Clearly communicate project goals and objectives to team members. Offer relevant feedback. Reinforce a collaborative work environment among department staff and other college constituents.
Serve as initial point of contact and maintain information for all current and upcoming projects. Anticipate future needs. Facilitate meetings with clients and appropriate department staff regarding ideation and logistics. Establish workflows. Set deadlines for staff and clients in order to ensure on-time delivery. Facilitate intra- and inter-department communication. Provide excellent customer service to all on- and off-campus clients.
Devise, implement, and enforce standard procedures that enable the Office of Communications and Marketing to operate with maximum efficiency. Communicate policies and procedures to current and potential clients. Develop a clear understanding of the college's marketing strategy and institutional goals; prioritize projects accordingly.
Develop an understanding of the college's public relations strategy, including priorities and timelines. Work with team members to develop supplemental content and materials to support public relations objectives.
Oversee advertising plans and media buys. Work with department staff and other college constituents to execute campaigns. Coordinate advertising sales for the alumni magazine and other college publications.
Oversee project budgets and coordinate procurement. Manage relationships with vendors. Prepare and distribute specifications; evaluate bids. Coordinate between college and vendors for all marketing-related projects.
Manage the college's trademark licensing program. Review and approve proposed designs from vendors. Ensure proper application of the college's identity on all merchandise for sale.
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
Knowledge of best practices for marketing communications in print and digital environments
Demonstrated experience in project and/or operations management
Knowledge of integrated marketing and brand management
Experience working in an academic environment preferred
Must feel comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of team member
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
