Thomas Kemper Soda Co. has an opening for two Field Marketing Reps . One for the Pacific Northwest and one for the Southwest (California) areas to perform routine, detailed market surveys, interact with store/restaurant managers, sell products into new accounts, oversee new item launches and expand product line in existing accounts. Accounts will consist of retail grocery, natural food stores, and premium foodservice operators. This position is responsible for maintaining contact with retailers both on-premise and off-premise accounts to confirm customer participation, and to ensure that distributor representatives follow up with agreed upon distribution of new items, space, POS, and general merchandising. The position will also be responsible for coordinating local marketing programs and events.
Must be highly motivated and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must have previous experience selling in the food or beverage industry.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with distribution network to increase distribution and exposure of Thomas Kemper products.
Open new accounts and perform direct sales calls in retail grocery, natural food stores, and premium foodservice accounts.
Maintains strong customer orientation and relationships.
Communicate regularly with retailers and distributors to set up promotions and placement of new products.
Completes reports including account surveys and weekly trip reports.
Communicates with VP of Sales regarding pertinent concerns and issues.
Performs other duties as assigned by VP of Sales and Marketing Manager.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
Must have previous experience selling in the food or beverage industry.
Effective selling, product placement and merchandising skills.
Professional presentation and reliable transportation needed.
Effective English language literacy; oral and written communication skills.
Work flexible hours as needed to accomplish job goals and must have reliable transportation.
