In collaboration with the Director, ,Surgical Services, this position is responsible and accountable for the day to day operations and the delivery of patient care services for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit ( PACU),Pre-Operative/One Day Surgery, Invasive Cardiology and Outpatient Medical Therapies. Scope of responsibility includes, but is not limited to, patient safety and satisfaction, staffing and education,,performance improvement, budgeting, personnel management and physician relations. Works collaboratively and proactively with staff,,physicians, other Surgical Services units and Hospital departments to facilitate and improve patient services. Serves as a professional leader and management representative of Surgical Services on hospital-wide committees and initiatives. Assists the Director, Surgical Services on specific projects and other duties assigned, including organizational strategies,, system priorities and overall healthcare trends.

Requirements for this position include: RN (State of CT license or license eligible), BSN, Masters preferred. Minimum of 5 (five) years experience in acute Perioperative or Nursing Specialty. Demonstrated progressive management experience in a health care setting, in specialty preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and the ability to communicate among all levels of the organization. Working knowledge of computer systems a must.
