Major/Essential Duties of Job

Serve as liaison between TAMUG researchers and other administrative units including providing support for preparation and routing of proposals, award documents and budget revisions. Handle administrative and financial activities for RGSO including (but not limited to) payroll, maintenance of records, training and supervising of support staff, creating purchasing documents, resolving accounting issues and management of department credit cards. Provide administrative and financial assistance to AVP for Research Development and Research Management on special projects benefitting TAMUG researchers, research capabilities, and research activities. Assist with administration of contracts and awards for TAMUG including routing of contracts for appropriate approvals and liaison with appropriate TAMU offices. Performs other duties as assigned.

Occasional Duties

Assisting with departmental budgets and university reports. Coordinate, carryout and/or oversee routine personnel activities for RGSO. Liaison with FMO, HR, and other TAMUG, TAMU and TAMUS departments and units. Oversee departmental annual capital equipment inventory including inventory from other administrative units. Other duties as assigned - due to the multi-function and interdepartmental support nature of this position these can be varied and frequent.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Four years professional, non-clerical experience in general office, accounting or personnel operations. Working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and word processing and use of standard office equipment. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in business administration or closely related field. Experience in task management and supervisory experience. Experience in managing business operations. Experience with creating and manipulating PDF documents and forms. FAMIS, Microsoft Office, AggieBuy, Concur, Maestro knowledge. Working knowledge of grant proposals and budget preparation.
