This project is to configure the network for a server that contains two network interfaces and runs Proxmox VE 2.2 on Debian 6. I am trying to create a Proxmox VE Cluster by connecting two Proxmox nodes and want the multicast traffic to use the private LAN.

The Proxmox server's network has eth0 connected to the public internet and eth1 connected to a LAN. Proxmox is installed and operating normally on this server. I can get Proxmox Cluster to work if I disable the APF firewall on Eth0, but that is not what I want.

The desired network configuration is for the Proxmox VEs Cluster nodes to communicate with each other using Eth1 private network connection. I do not want Proxmox Cluster using Eth0 network because it conflicts with the firewall, is a slower network and has security restrictions. The cluster must use the private network.

You will have root access to the proxmox server. The project will be to show me how to configure this type of network for Proxmox VE Cluster.

Please respond by telling me about your Debian networking experience and whether you have used Proxmox Cluster before.
