Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Performs land use and environmental or economic trend research, and participates in special planning studies that support efforts to review and update the county's Comprehensive Plan. Collects and analyzes data, evaluates existing conditions and trends, and conducts development review analyses and/or Plan monitoring activities. Prepares a variety of written materials including research reports, staff reports, environmental assessments, planning studies and evaluations, and public hearing items. Makes presentations to senior staff, Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors, task forces and/or citizens groups.

Minimum

Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a planning-related field; plus three years of experience in a planning-related field. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience. The years of experience should include a minimum of two years of experience in the specific area of assignment (e.g., zoning evaluation, zoning administration, zoning enforcement, public facility, environmental and/or land use planning).

Preferred

Qualifications:
Master's degree in planning or closely planning related field. Progressively responsible professional experience in comprehensive land use planning. Strong abilities in written and oral communications. Experience using word processing, database and GIS software. Experience in a local government planning office.

Must be willing to participate in work assignments and meetings during the evening hours.
