The ECS will be dedicated to providing clinical interventions to infants, young children, and their families in order to help parents become more effective caregivers and increase positive responses from their child, as well as reduce problematic behaviors. Therapeutic services will be provided in home and/or clinic settings. The ECS may also provide mental health consultation in daycare or preschool settings.
Duties include:
• Assess eligibility for enrollment in the Early Connections Network (ECN)
• Provide clinical assessments as indicated and utilize the DC: 0-3R diagnostic classifications to guide appropriate treatment and referrals
• Develop an individualized care plan and a crisis/safety plan based on family’s strengths as well as their goals for treatment
• Participate in extensive training to deliver evidence-based treatment interventions (i.e. PCIT, CPP, TF-CBT) and provide education on social-emotional development of infants and young children
• Maintain necessary documentation to evaluate progress and appropriateness of services
• Collaborate with designated care coordinator and participate as a member of the Child and Family Team
Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, and 2 years’ experience in child and behavioral health preferred (Licensure supervision will be provided if ECS is eligible for a professional license).
Skills and Knowledge Preferred:
• Interest and prior experience working with young children (birth-five years) and families, including military families
• Prior experience working in a collaborative setting and familiarity with early childhood systems
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of effective early childhood mental health and clinical interventions Knowledge of childhood & family developmental norms
• Competent in working with people of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
• Knowledge of community resources
