Job Summary
Highly motivated individual that is capable of working in a multidisciplinary team environment, working directly and potentially collocated with customers, (during the architecture and early development phase of the project). The detailed engineering design work and manufacturing will be done inCalifornia and in France.
Establishes and manages technical requirements for power distribution equipment. Acts as a technical liaison with customer. The candidate will work most heavily with the design offices during the definition and develop phases and then again with the delivery of the distributions systems and will remain involved with duration of the product.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establishes high level requirements for electric power distribution equipment or sub-system derived from systems level and customer requirements
  • Technical liaison with customer
  • Assists in the definition of performance specifications, assembly layouts and installation requirements.
  • Participates in technical meeting and design reviews with customer
  • Actively participates in Lean and 6S initiatives
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above
  • Understand and live by Esterline's ethics and business conduct policies
  • Performs other duties as required
Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or University in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of ten to fifteen years' experience in Aerospace Systems Engineering, preferable electrical systems
  • Key Skill - Aircraft Power System Integration and Testing Practices
  • Familiar with Aerospace and Defense Development Processes and Commercial Airworthiness and Certification Practices
  • Familiar with Requirements Based Development, including Skills for Writing Requirements
  • Able to Decompose System Level Requirements into Subsystem and Component Requirements
  • Able to Document System Designs, Tradeoffs, Strategies, and Analytic Results
  • Familiar with : ARP4754, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254 and FARs documents
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication, Project management, technical presentation and design review skills
  • Strong knowledge of military specifications and regulations
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master degree in Electrical Engineering with experience in aerospace systems
  • Knowledge of aircraft installation and techniques
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and tooling
