Summary:
A candidate for this position will provide Professional Design solutions within a formal engineering or major design project as an experienced engineer able to work independently on electrical component packaging. Candidate will coordinate and perform complex engineering tasks, under minimal supervision, supporting the mission of the group, department and/or Volvo GTT. Core Responsibilities:

If Product Engineer:
Develop / Maintain Design Documentation, including CAD design data and installation drawings
Develop more complex electrical wiring harness, electrical and electronic components packaging projects within area of assignment.
Develop / Maintain Design Documentation, including CAD design data and installation drawings and Producte Structure
Support design implementation activities with internal and external customers and suppliers as necessary

If Senior Engineer:
Support design implementation activities with internal and external customers and suppliers as necessary.

Time Management Education and Skill Requirements:
BSME Degree in Engineering

Product Engineer general experience equivalent to 5 or more years of progressive automotive experience, OR a minimum of 9 years of applicable progressive automotive experience

Senior Engineer with 8 years of practical experience OR Master of Science with 6 years of practical experience OR a minimum of 12 years of related experience.
Proper knowledge of development processes for wiring harnesses, related routing and clipping components as well as other electrical components

Skilled in developing high level specifications for brackets as well as packaging specifications for electrical and electronic components

SAE, IEEE, and Mil standards

Strong PC skills are highly desirable

Expert level in the use of Catia V5, including experience using the Wiring module. Experience using Enovia a plus

Knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle electrical systems Physical Requirements if applicable:

This position requires the candidate to be able to work in an office environment at least 40 hours a week. Most work is done on a computer and requires the motor skills for those tasks Volvo Group North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer E.O.E./M/F/D/V
