JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Scope and Responsibilities: *
  • Lead and collaborate within a multifunctional technical, production, and marketing team to create new products in support of Company’s growing brand *
  • Explore and evaluate technologies needed to deliver new product concepts or value-added product improvements *
  • Provide critical engineering, design, and testing support toward development of specific new product designs *
  • Support product commercialization, including industry and production launch

Specific Role Functions: *
  • Lead a multifunctional product development team in the creation of new products *
  • Design and develop new product concepts, using CAD software (Solidworks) and related tools *
  • Generate design concepts from the ground up for new products and in-line product improvements *
  • Translate product demonstration prototypes into refined designs *
  • Take ownership of CAD design and refinement process *
  • Perform product prototype testing and troubleshooting for design refinement and ultimately, product design validation *
  • Deliver manufacturable and cost-optimized final product design for production *
  • Provide support to Manufacturing/Operations during design implementation and product launch activities *
  • Carry out product instructions and product quality assurance activities *
  • Support development of product instructions and packaging copy as needed

Job Requirements
  • : * BS or MS in Engineering *
  • Exceptional technical and design skills *
  • 5 years direct experience and proven ability in mechanical parts design *
  • Experience designing parts for mass production processes such as injection molding, sheet metal stamping and forming and machining processes *
  • Effective project management, collaboration and communication abilities within a multifunctional R&D, Sales and Marketing, and Operations environment *
  • Strong awareness of the needs and desires of the end-user *
  • Practical hands-on build and test capabilities, basic shop skills *
  • Strong follow through and ability to take responsibility for tasks through to completion *
  • Creativity, curiosity, and a desire to continuously learn and improve *
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment *
  • Strong computer and CAD skills (Solidworks) and the ability to learn new technical applications easily
