Description – Overview
The primary purpose of the Police Officer position is to enforce the law, provide service, information and aid to all citizens as circumstances require, prevent crime, suppress disturbances, investigate criminal offenses, and arrest offenders. |
Required: High School Diploma or GED, successful completion of a TCLEOSE approved Basic Peace Officer Course, has passed TCLEOSE exam.
Preferred: 60 college hours from an accredited college or university.
Required: Possess Peace Officer License from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) and Valid Texas Driver's License. Must hold a Peace Officer Commission, issued by the Director of the Police of The University of Texas System.
Preferred: Ten years of experience working in a law enforcement agency of 75 commissioned personnel or more. R.A.D. Rape Aggressive Defense Systems certification.
Preferred: Successful completion of the prescribed Field Training Program.
