Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesHighest-level project management of strategic systems initiatives.Directs systems project managers who perform all aspects of project management (e.g., estimating, resource and task planning, scheduling and status reporting) on related sub projects.Leads project teams that research and evaluates new technologies to determine their usefulness and applicability to provide business solutions. Accountable for early adaptation of new technologies in support of strategic business plans.Provides ongoing mentoring to team members and is accountable for formal 360?? feedback for performance reviews and at project completion.Delivers results on strategic projects through large, diverse multi-tiered work teams.Understands application, development, testing and execution environments and analyzes the implications of new technologies on existing environments. Actively participates in process redesign.Participates in the setting of strategic direction in partnership with the business.This position may function across all business lines within the enterprise.Effective leader who motivates teams in all phases of project performance and change cycles.Plays lead IT role in setting strategic direction in partnership with the business.May conduct formal Navigator project methodology training classes.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsProject Manager certificationThis senior-level position typically requires a Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent and ten plus years of project management experience.Superior leadership, competence in managing through direct and indirect reporting relationshipsDemonstrated ability in leading large, complex initiativesDemonstrated understanding of data analysis concepts and ability performing data modeling activitiesDemonstrated ability to think strategically and deliver tacticallyDemonstrated depth and breadth of business knowledge and technical expertise.Highly proficient in the use of the Navigator project methodology and toolset.Training and Education Experience with Project Management Metholodogy and SDLC, preferred.Meets the standards for this position, as defined in the Talent Management framework.Unum offers world-class training and development, generous compensation and benefits packages, and a culture built on employee ideas.
