A Vendor Management Specialist is responsible for managing relationships with specific vendors while working with the business unit personnel and the IT team in the development and support of those relationships. This includes monitoring the execution of contracts for the delivery of IT products and services. The Vendor Management Specialist provides advice, assistance and leadership in any area associated with the procurement, provision, delivery, maintenance or effective use of information systems and their environments.
1. Managing communications with vendors (in conjunction with business unit and IT personnel) to develop and cultivate positive business relationships. Consult with others on vendor issues and opportunity discussions.
2. Maintain vendor information, contacts, contracts/agreements and other relevant information on specific vendors. Utilize available internal technologies to archive and maintain all vendor information.
3. Support new technology section by performing vendor due diligence in conjunction with Risk and Compliance and legal to assist the organization in vendor selection. Assist in vendor risk reviews.
4. Analyze vendor performance through the development of metrics. Perform evaluation on the existing vendor portfolio; making recommendations to the business and IT.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of relevant certifications and at least 5 years of diverse business and systems experience, required.
Minimum of five years of vendor management to include contract oversight, vendor relationship management and vendor performance management.
