The Senior DBA position requires expertise with both Unix/Linux systems and databases, focused in the management of solutions using Oracle, MySQL and Vertica, the operations surrounding those technologies, and the services infrastructure needed to achieve the highest service levels (e.g., 7x24 availability, performance, etc.) and consequent high customer satisfaction. You will be expected to resolve and help guide resolution of multiple moderate to highly complex problems in a rapidly growing organization.
Provide 24x7 database administration and support for all production Oracle, MySQL and Vertica databases
Conduct systematic performance tuning (i.e., database server performance tuning, database-related component tuning, and product-specific database request tuning).
Assist in development, efficiency improvements and implementation of database policies and procedures for data security and integrity.
Administer and maintain production and test databases ensuring high data application availability
Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Ensure efficiency improvements and changes to operations processes are implemented.
Ability to work with and assist software application development groups to provide database setup, optimization, and modification support.
Reports to the Manager of IT Operations

Requires at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
5+ years Database Administrator experience.
Proven extensive experience with Oracle or MySQL and a passion to learn required.
Working experience with scripting tools such as Perl, shell, and PL/SQL.
Experience supporting a web hosting environment preferred.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Production experience with Vertica 5.0 and VSQL is a plus.
