These endeavors have been around for centuries and will continue to be a vital part of the global economy. We currently have an opening for a Plant Director at our facility in Boise, Idaho.
The Plant Director is responsible for leading the strategic vision for the Idaho Regional manufacturing facility and supporting all activities related to the facility. The successful individual will play a critical role in the implementation and maintenance of the principles, policies and procedures that comprise the Food Group manufacturing operations as they relate to the facility. The incumbent must promote and champion the principles of Safety, Leadership Excellence, Operational Excellence, Quality Management and Six-Sigma to achieve all financial and operational objectives established for the operation. The position is responsible for creating a strategy that demonstrates a bias for action and passion for winning while delivering quality products to our customers. The successful Plant Director will be accountable to strengthen and stretch the management team to achieve excellence and establish a winning culture. This individual is directly responsible for the adherence to systems established to ensure that the products produced and distributed by the facility, meet the regulatory requirements of the countries where they are consumed. The responsibility for the Idaho Regional manufacturing facility to produce products that are manufactured in accordance with "Good Manufacturing Practices", and meet quality expectations of our customers rests on the Plant Director.
-Act as the primary contact and ambassador of the operation to all venues including; customers, sales, marketing, suppliers and senior management.
-Provides leadership, guidance and vision to the Management Team for the creation of Annual and the Long Range (3 year) Strategic Plan. Ensures delivery and execution, on-budget and on-time, for these plans.
-Direct the operation to assure the facility achieves the required volume, grade yield, cost and quality as set forth in each area by the management direction.
-Champion a trust based leadership culture with a bias for action and a passion for winning.
-Direct the plant accounting and cost control function and monitor expenses to assure attainment of budgets and forecasts.
-Ensure adherence to established food safety policies that are in accordance with consumer safety, "good manufacturing practices", HACCP principles, all regulatory agency requirements (OSHA,FDA,USDA,EPA etc.) and customer quality system expectations.
-Participate in labor negotiation strategy and agreement of labor contracts. Will actively participate in labor relations activities to maintain a stable and productive work force.
-Direct the Risk Management program to reduce personal injury accidents and other losses to the Company.
-Participate in negotiations of raw product contracts and direct field activities to obtain needed quantities of suitable raw product at competitive prices.
-Direct plant facilities maintenance in a cost effective manner and capital expenditure budget to provide maximum return on capital investment.
-Develop and maintain a desirable public relationship in the community to assure a favorable Company image.
-A Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from four-year College or university, and 10+ years related experience in food processing operations. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirement.
-Strong employee relationship skills, verbal and written communication skills, leadership, coaching, participative Management Style, performance management, strong planning, organizing, directing, goal setting, and decision making skills, the ability to develop subordinates, and strong presentation skills.
-This position requires the flexibility to work any days and shifts as necessary to support a 24/7 operation and have strong knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility.
-Knowledge of the tools, roles and procedures needed to establish and monitor budgets.
-Knowledge of employee contracts regulations and ability to manage employee contracts in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations. Knowledge of rights and obligations in the employee and employer relationship and ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations. Knowledge of domestic and international laws governing employment and ability to interpret and take action on the aspects of employment laws that impact the business.
-Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
-Knowledge and associated ability to apply technical, scientific and mathematical knowledge to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
-Strong knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
-Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes.
-Knowledge of and ability to use the Six Sigma approach and methodology for eliminating defects in the manufacturing process.
