General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has an immediate opening for an Engineer to join our Information Assurance team. The position provides an opportunity to work directly with some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. Our employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to secure clients information systems and their contents. Responsibilities for this Position:

Key Responsibilities
The Engineer interacts with ENCORE II Cybercom CI/DIB clients to recommend and provide information assurance solutions including:

Perform network monitoring, analysis and reporting in accordance with the provisions of DoD Directive 8570.01-M. Skills and associated duties may include:

Intrusion: Examines potential security violations, incidents, malicious activity and attacks to determine if policy has been breached, assesses the impact, and preserves artifacts. Enter and tracks events and incidents. Support incident escalation and assesses probable damages, identify damage control and remediation, and assist in developing courses of action. Supervise the installation, monitoring, testing, troubleshooting, and administration of IA hardware and software systems. Recommend, schedule, and perform IA system repairs, systems administration, and maintenance. Analyze patterns of non compliance or attacks and recommend appropriate actions to minimize security risks and insider threat. Configure, optimize, and test network devices. Diagnose and resolve IA problems in response to reported incidents. Enhance rule sets to identify or block sources or potential sources of malicious traffic. Support the design and execution of exercise scenarios.

Team members may also develop the verification procedures used in risk assessments and security tests and evaluations. The selected employee will develop various security documentations, including security, configuration management and contingency plans in compliance with Information Assurance policy. It is also the responsibility of the Senior Engineer to conduct risk assessments.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively manage and protect information systems in a cost-effect manner.

The Information Assurance position requires:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Information Systems Management, Information Assurance, Network Security, or other technical, IT-related field from an accredited institution with two to five years of related experience. Four(4) years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.

Comp TIA Security + certified ; additional certifications i.e., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certification and Accreditation Professional (CAP) or equivalent security certifications are appreciated.

Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire . Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation [SCI w/ CI Poly (or greater)] and; therefore, must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship is required.
