English Language Proficiency required. DUTIES:
The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lebanon Pennsylvania is seeking a Physiatrist to join our team.

Primary Responsibility will be to deliver high quality physiatry care, diagnostic studies, and physical evaluations. The incumbent will demonstrate a high commitment to service for the Veterans and respect to all, including Veteran's family members and the other staff. Duties include identifying, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with physiologic complications and deterioration resulting from musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and other disorders which impede the maximal physical psychological, social and occupational potential for a full range of complex patient populations. Remedial and preventative nature services expected.

Therapeutic interventions include: orthotics evaluation and prescription, prosthetics evaluation and prescription, therapeutic exercise prescription, prescription of various therapy modalities, assistive devices and home programs, consultation for preventative measures to maintain optimal functional levels, and special electric and manual wheel chair evaluation and prescription.

Lebanon VAMC offers acute medical, surgical, behavioral health and long-term inpatient care and a full range of outpatient services including primary care, specialty care, home based care and psychiatric rehabilitation services. The recent addition of specialized diagnostic services (MRI and Nuclear Medicine) enhances this ever growing, constantly improving facility.

  • The selected candidate will be board certified.
  • On call duties required (evenings/nights/weekends), as necessary.

  • U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires manual dexterity, standing for long periods, bending, stooping and ability to position patients.
