DESCRIPTION

Employee will provide students with daily activity enrichment. Students should be able to have an end goal and be able to showcase what they have learned.

DUTIES

Assist
An enrichment specialist main responsibility is to assist students in the area of rigorous activity. Students should be able to grasps the main concepts and have an end goal in mind. Maintain structure in a classroom as well as provide behavioral support.
Evaluate
During sessions, evaluate student's progress regarding specific aspects of the activity to ensure that students are meeting the requirements of the chosen activity.
Motivate
An enrichment specialist should always try to motivate their students and provide them with confidence. Students need to have positive attitudes to feel successful and get the job done.
Develop
Enrichment Specialists to provide positive activities for physical activity, character building and team work.
Integrate
Besides teaching students different aspects of a given activity, enrichment specialist should also assist students from 5th to 11th grade in the development of general skills.
  • Enrichment specialists should commit to work at least one term and are encouraged to stay longer if possible. All enrichment specialist are expected to honor the term of their commitment, and must give two weeks written notification before terminating employment.
  • Enrichments must commit to work a minimum of 12 hours per week, three hours per day; four days per week.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with the youth and acts as a positive role model at all times.
  • Ensures all programs adhere to the YWCA of York mission, core values, policies and funding guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two years of experience working with students ages 9-18.
  • Must be able to work with students, and have good classroom management skills.
  • Be prepared to transfer knowledge and skills to students.
