Dell Inc. is a worldwide provider of information technology solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Memphis, TN.
-Responds to customer technical problems/issues related to hardware, software and networking via e-mail/chat, in person, online and on the phone
-Assists customers by diagnosing problems and providing resolutions for technical service or care issues
-Uses troubleshooting techniques and tools to identify products that are defective and follow guidelines in issuing service calls/contacts
-Advises/educates customers within procedural guidelines to ensure a complete solution to their technical or service questions
-Identifies, researches and provides input on unique or recurring customer problems
-Remains knowledgeable of Dell’s product line, current industry products and technologies
-Focuses on delivering a positive customer experience according to Dell standards
-Monitors and tracks issues to ensure accurate resolution
-Escalates more complex customer technical issues to senior level support
-Provides technical support and analysis for network systems and components, LAN/WAN communications, applications and end user hardware
-Effectively communicates with all stakeholders and team members
-Conducts analysis and prepares reports
-Monitors environment to ensure its availability
-Observes and controls the status and performance of all system components
-Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems affecting network performance
-Creates and maintains support and technical documentation
-Assists with maintenance of compliance standards and documentation of the compliance/security standards
-2-4 years of relevant desktop support experience
-Basic to intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook required
-Windows XP and Windows 7 experience required
-Intermediate understanding of Active Directory required
-Intermediate understanding of Networking required
-Intermediate understanding of Wireless networking required
-Experience staging and deploying end user computer hardware required
-Strong customer service skills required
-Citrix client experience preferred
-VOIP experience beneficial
-Remedy experience beneficial
-Knowledge of configuring mobile devices beneficial
-Previous experience working in a healthcare setting beneficial
-High school diploma or equivalent required
-Associates degree, technical college or some college course work preferred
-Technical certifications beneficial
-Ideal candidate is a high energy individual who can manage their time and tasks well while working in a fast paced, customer service oriented healthcare environment
-On-call rotations required
-Reliable transportation throughout the day to drive to locations across the mid-south required
-Primary hours are 10:00 AM Central Time to 7:00 PM Central Time, with a one hour lunch. Some after-hours, evening and possibly weekend hours may be indicated during high demand occasions
