Under the general supervision of the laboratory supervisor, the medical laboratory technician is accountable for performing a variety of qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests, both manual and automated, of varying complexity to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The medical lab technologist is valued for proficiency testing and achieving satisfactory results, maintaining records and documentation, maintaining supply inventory, and in some cases providing appropriate instruction to patients and their family members. The Medical Lab Technologist’s role in the accurate and qualitative performance of laboratory tests is a vital component to providing extraordinary care to our patients.
Part time, 24 hours per week - Thursday - Sunday 5 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Associate's degree or at least 60 semester hours of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program along with national certification, MLT (ASCP) or military certification. Intermountain verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
Experience in a clinical laboratory
Lifting, Hearing and Listening, Manual dexterity, Motor Coordination, Seeing, Speaking, Standing
Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science. Intermountain verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
