Supervisors provide operational support for the contract by maintaining quality performance objectives, supervising union personnel, assisting in cost control programs, and ensuring that employees are properly trained to execute job functions and administer discipline as required. The Supervisor should be proactive in looking for ways to improve current operations and work to increase CEVA's business scope. The Supervisor is also responsible for thinking strategically while becoming more intimate with the customer's business.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
This position is second shift.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
•Provide on-site management and company representation to customer.
•Create and implement cost savings.
•Responsible for meeting customer requirements, ensuring productivity levels are reached in an effective and efficient manner and maintaining quality performance objectives.
•Manage and coordinate inbound and outbound functions in a multiple shift operation
•Oversee supplier compliance/performance/training
•Create and maintain metrics applicable to suppliers (KPI's)
•Serve as liaison to communicate plant issues or concerns to the staff.
•Create, train, promote, and enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment
•Follow up on all Safety concerns, resolve immediate hazards and report potential risks to the Safety committee
•Ensure freight is manifested correctly and ensure customer standards for load quality are met.
•Provide instruction to hourly employees (warehouse jobs and duties).
•Monitor employee productivity and quality of work.
•Ensure employees are following proper work instructions in their assigned areas.
•Ensure inbounds are processed properly and returns are loaded per established schedules
•Monitor and control the loading function to ensure CEVA expectations for accuracy, efficiency and timeliness are met
•Provide supervision and direction to all administrative and hourly employees.
•Support payroll processing and invoicing customer for services (where applicable).
•Generate timely metrics
•Maintain equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance (when applicable).
•Investigate customer complaints
•Performs special projects as required by the Operations Manager.

Summary of Experience and Education
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Two years experience, preferably some Supervisory experience in a Transportation, Logistics, Warehouse, union or Cross-dock environment.
- Strong knowledge of the operational requirements of all existing accounts.
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and inter-personal skills to manage and motivate workforce and others.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
