Department Overview

Fidelity Capital Markets (FCM) is the institutional trading arm of Fidelity Investments, providing trading products and services to a wide array of clients and Fidelity businesses. FCM executes domestic and international equity securities, block and portfolio trades, listed options, and foreign exchange. We offer securities lending, commission management and transition management. We trade fixed-income principally in a wide range of taxable and tax-exempt securities and underwrite municipal and government agency debt. FCM has its own distribution channel, Fidelity Prime Services, focused on servicing hedge funds. Additionally, we have a full suite of electronic and automated trading products, including proprietary algorithms and our internal crossing network, CrossStream®. Position Overview

This role will work with the Fidelity Capital Markets Fixed Income Team, within the FCM Business Project Management Office. The Project Manager will be part of a team dedicated to supporting the Fixed Income business in FCM, as well across the Fidelity Institutional customer channels. This position involves working in a matrixed organization and working with cutting edge trading technology. A solid command of project management processes, business analysis and project lifecycle methodology is paramount for success. The qualified candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate analysis and issue resolution across multiple business groups and technology partners.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Working with business and systems partners to identify stakeholders, develop a project plan, document business requirements, use cases, UAT strategy and test plan
  • Managing a comprehensive, integrated project plan
  • Financial management of the project
  • Facilitation of risk management planning and mitigation strategies
  • Working with Product Management/Middle Office/Trade Support/Core Operations/Compliance/Risk to ensure all business requirements and impacts are account for
  • Creating and contributing to regular project status/health of initiatives reporting
  • Oversight of user acceptance testing

Education and Experience:
  • BS or BA degree required
  • 5 years of direct project management experience - Trading application project work required
  • 2-3 years experience with trading and operations preferred
  • Experience in developing and leading projects from initiation to completion, on-time, on-scope and on-budget
Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the general US Fixed Income industry, including both retail and institutional market structure dynamics a plus
  • Exposure to Fixed Income trading technology
  • Demonstrated track record of project execution
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; solid negotiation ability and willingness to build consensus across business lines
  • Solid analytical skills; ability to diagnose and recommend process improvements
  • Extensive experience with business applications such as MS Project, Excel, Powerpoint. Visio and Access knowledge beneficial
