Responsible for conducting medically prescribed Occupational Therapy services to restore function and to help patient reach the highest possible level of function, following evaluation of a licensed Occupational Therapist. These activities include both individual and group situations where the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant functions as an educator, role model, counselor and rehabilitation. Emphasis is placed on individualizing activities to the patient and therapeutic community. Patients are seen in varied and multidisciplinary settings including acute care, outpatient care, home health, skilled nursing facility, and inpatient rehabilitation where patient census or staffing dictates.
Licensed in Texas. Previous experience in rehabilitation and Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) preferred. BLS required within 6 months.
Associate degree from a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
