We are looking for an experienced Marketing Director to join our team in Carlsbad, California.
Job Purpose and Summary
The Marketing Director leads marketing communications for Brand Rubio’s. S/he will play a lead role in Rubio’s brand stewardship, beginning with repositioning the brand in our restaurants and aligning all aspects of our internal and external communication to reflect the brand’s new direction. Responsibilities include developing and implementing marketing strategies and tactics for point-of-sale merchandising, external advertising, media planning, product celebrations and other promotions, social media, e-club, advocates platform, rubios.com website, gift cards, and packaging graphics. These activities include developing and executing the annual marketing calendar for chain-wide initiatives. This person will work closely with the Local Store Marketing Manager who is responsible for local trade-area marketing. This position will directly manage three marketing Team Members and relationships with Rubio’s external agencies, graphic designers and printing/fulfillment partners. This person will work cooperatively with the Marketing Team, the Culinary Team, Finance, Operations, IT, Real Estate Development/Design, and Rubio’s Executive Management to implement these initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
· Develop annual marketing calendar and execute marketing tactics for all product celebrations and other promotions throughout the year.
· Lead advertising efforts and media planning in traditional and digital media.
· Activate our fans via the e-club, advocate platform, social media, and website.
· Ensure the in-restaurant environment reflects the Brand identity.
· Oversee graphics development for all packaging.
· Budget management of initiatives.
Education: 4-year degree or equivalent, and MBA (preferred).
Experience: 7-10 years of restaurant, packaged goods or comparable marketing experience.
Knowledge: Demonstrated success with creating brand identity, leading consumer communications efforts including advertising and digital efforts, team/people development and managing external agencies.
Language Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Reasoning Abilities: Strategic thinking, analytics (quantitative and qualitative), and creative problem-solving.
