The Director Plant Operations (DPO) is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating, and controlling all activities of the plant operations and maintenance functions, which are necessary to maintain the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utilities and grounds of this hospital in an operative and safe working condition.
The DPO maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities.
DPO assures competency of all personnel.
DPO maintains efficient and effective department operations, while requiring compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.
The DPO is responsible for managing all aspects of facility construction/maintenance/repair projects.
The DPO serves as the Safety Officer and is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs/processes to ensure regulatory compliance, and to provide a safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, and professional staff.
Appropriate certifications in Healthcare Facility Management and/or Hospital
Plant Operations Management.
Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)
Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP)
2 year/Associate Degree
