General Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to play a key role in the coordination of production assets for Columbia Sportswear’s e-commerce activities. The E-commerce Web Content Coordinator is responsible for ongoing content management activities of Columbia.com and other branded e-commerce web sites. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of digital/interactive asset production/delivery, attention to detail and outstanding communication skills.
  • Coordinate processes to support the continual content enhancements of the Columbia.com and other branded e-commerce web sites
  • Assist in the delivery of content within existing global content management systems
  • Work with translation vendor to have data and graphics localized for different international web sites
  • Execute web site enhancements adhering to strict branding guidelines and production procedures
  • Drive quality assurance standards of content assets for Columbia e-commerce web sites and third-party partner use
  • Assist in the content delivery of seasonal and ongoing launches, projects and campaigns
  • Create digital graphics with web authoring tools that conform to optimization best practices for size and electronic delivery/load times
  • Assist with coordination of content delivery for project teams that consist of: creative managers/designers, copywriters, developers and merchandisers
  • Troubleshoot content issues and problems for Columbia e-commerce web sites
  • Assist in the development and delivery of standards, templates and training to assist content providers for providing materials
  • Build new pages or content sections of Columbia e-commerce web sites
  • Maintain positive relationships and communicate effectively with internal and outside clients
  • Proofreading and proper electronic formatting of content for Columbia e-commerce web sites
  • Encoding of videos for use on all Columbia e-commerce sites
Specific Job Skills and Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a web content coordination or online production role
  • Deep understanding of web development, technical concepts such as; content management systems, web services and information architecture
  • Experience with the electronic delivery of web content while adhering to strict brand guidelines
  • Hands-on experience with web design, including web authoring tools and graphic design principles
  • Knowledge of user experience design best practices including but not limited to web site usability and information design
  • Understanding of how to optimize graphics and other media for electronic delivery
  • Experience working with HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, and FTP
  • Strong analytical, organizational skills and content management skills
  • Understanding of the social media space, its applications and opportunities/benefits
  • Proofreading and editing of web content within a blog, web page or kiosk application
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Information Management, Design or other applicable field of study
  • 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Content Management training or certification desired
