Position Summary
The Siebel Systems Analyst III is a specialist in the analysis of complex business problems, providing technical expertise in in identifying, evaluating and determining appropriate systems solutions. The Siebel Systems Analyst collaborates in the development of application functionality by defining functional specifications based on his/her domain expertise and knowledge of existing functionality within the system. They will also provide user support and troubleshooting, input on business requirements, system and process enhancement support and documentation. This position leads all aspects of the delivery of Siebel solution & related components: interfaces, conversions, HW/SW oversight (selection, sizing, configuration recommendation & execution). The Siebel Systems Analyst provides Solution Performance (analysis/tuning) at all levels of the application including (database, application, web, and network) and works across technology teams to ensure alignment between business solution definition & systems architecture for the organization. Works with development team to ensure business needs are translated into systems that support the needs. Works with both the development team and support teams to identify maintenance and support processes for management of the Siebel environment.
Responsibilities
Participate in and contribute to large, complex and diverse projects, with minimal guidance, own assigned tasks and assist with tasks assigned to others working on the same project. Partner with business and other IT teams to complete work. Mentor and train others. Resolve complex system problems. Participate in technical reviews.
Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
Provide leadership and system expertise for the support of F5’s global implementation of Siebel CRM.
Understand the long-term business objectives for the global service delivery and RMA teams and suggest technical strategies to meet those objectives by introducing innovation to business processes through technology
Works with users to understand their application requirements, design, document, and deploy solutions, configurations and enhancements that meet F5 business needs
Interprets complex requirements; design, document and deploy integrated solutions, reporting solutions and data warehousing solutions.
Provide support for production systems, and implement speedy resolutions in partnership with the business.
Supports business needs for system processing and availability; provide clear and timely communication to users. Troubleshoots application issues.
Provide timely and accurate reporting of status and problems or roadblocks
Plans, coordinates and executes unit, integration and user acceptance testing. Creates systems implementation, rollout, and user adoption plans – this may include internal and external users.
Works with the development team to implement system solutions.
Provide leadership in researching and implementing industry best practices.
Position self to become a subject matter expert in assigned areas, assisting with education and knowledge transfer to other groups where applicable.
Demonstrate team work to foster strong team dynamics and a collaborative working environment
Responsible for mentoring and developing less senior analysts
Manages relationships with external service providers, as needed.
Qualifications
BS/BA or equivalent work experience
6+ years of relevant work experience
5+ years of experience with Siebel 8.1/8.0/7.8 applications in a Systems Analyst role
Experience with data mapping and data modeling.
Experience matching Siebel CRM capabilities to business requirements.
Demonstrated expertise across the Siebel CRM platform and understanding of business implementation best practices.
Experience with Siebel UCM preferred
Demonstrated work experience in business analysis, systems analysis, process modeling, and data modeling skills
Ability to develop clear, thorough functional design specifications that drive effective solution development
Knowledge of SQL and ability to utilize ad hoc query tools (i.e. TOAD, SQL Plus) to execute queries with moderate complexity.
Ability to define and execute appropriate test scenarios to validate system solutions
Experience working with Oracle support to resolve issues
Excellent communication, planning, problem solving, trouble shooting, and organizational skills.
Current technology skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends). Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
